Chile – Revenues down again for casinos in Chile

Gross Gaming Revenues in Chile including revenue generated by the seven municipal casinos stood at $36,851m in August.
This is a decrease of -4.4 per cent compared to the same month last year while the cumulative gross gaming growth rate stood at -1.3per cent.
The cumulative growth rate for the casinos took into account the period from August 2016 to August 2017, which were then compared with the accumulated income of the period from August 2015 to August 2016.
According to the Chilean Gaming Control Board (SJC), Gross Gaming Revenue for the casinos which already come under the supervision of the SJC stood at $25,992m and made up 70.5 per cent of the total. Meanwhile, Gross Gaming Revenue for the seven municipal casinos stood at $10,858 million making up 29.5 per cent. Of the total bingo accounted for 0.1 per cent of gross gaming revenue. Roulette accounted for 5.7 per cent. Card games 11.4 per cent. Dice games 0.3 percent and slots 82.5 per cent.
The number of visitors to the non municipal casinos in August stood at 429,204 -5.3 per cent when compared to August 2016 recording a cumulative growth rate of -0.8 per cent over the last twelve months. On average visitors spent $60,560 each plus 0.4 per cent when compared to August 2016 and -0.8 per cent over the last twelve months. Meanwhile, total visitors to the municipal casinos (not including the casino in Puerto Varas which does not record this information) stood at 205,522 for the month of August. However, data for average visitor spend in the municipal casinos is still unavailable at this point.
The amount gambled in March via the 9,956 gaming machines that were in operation in the 17 non municipal casinos amounted to $346,196m. The prizes paid to players reached $325,033m which made up 93.9 per cent per cent of the total amount wagered. As a result, gross win stood at $21,163m.
In terms of gross gaming income generated by the 17 non municipal casinos Sun Monticello Casino came in first place with 17.4 per cent ($6,402m).This was followed by Casino de Viña del Mar 11.5 per cent ($ 4,245m). Casino Rinconada 10.7 per cent ($3,929 m). Marina del Sol Talcahuano 8.5 per cent ($3,139m). Coquimbo 6.1 per cent ($2,230m). Enjoy Antofagasta 5.6 per cent ($2,081m). Dreams Temuco 4.9 per cent ($1,824m). Casino de Iquique 4.5 per cent ($1,676 m). Dreams Punta Arenas 4.1 per cent ($1,517 m). Casino Puerto Varas 3.4 per cent ($1,241m). Marina del Sol Calama 2.7 per cent ($994m). Gran Casino de Talca 2.6 per cent ($957m). Antay Casino & Hotel 2.6 per cent ($950m). Dreams Valdivia 2.5 per cent ($914m). In August the municipalities and regions where the casinos are located received a total of $4,217 in gaming tax revenue from the seventeen municipal casinos while they also generated an additional $1,400m in tax on entrance fees for the state. On top of this amount they also generated $4,150m in gaming VAT.
