France – Current operator Emeraude given three year extension in Fécamp

By - 26 June 2017

French operator Emeraude Group has been given a licence extension of three years at its casino in the town of Fécamp in Seine-Maritime.

The group is now considering whether to relocate the licence from the casino currently on the waterfront to land belonging to the city, called the Mâture, which will include hotels, a theatre and a skate park.

The new public service delegation, which will take effect from 1 November 2017, is more advantageous for the city than the current one, said Mayor Marie-Agnès Poussier-Winsbeck.

“What we can retain from this new offer is three years of contract with an option of an additional year, depending on the progress of the project to open the new casino,” she said. A rate of levy on the gross proceeds of games which will be progressive, from 12 to 15 per cent. In the current agreement the rate was decreasing, ie the more the casino wins, the less the rate of levy is high.”

There will also be a tourism participation of the casino in the amount of €45,000 per year, which did not previously exist, and an occupancy fee of €50,000 per year for the casino company.
