Russia – Tigre de Cristal doubles daily attendance

Over 190,000 people have so far visited Tigre de Cristal, an Integrated Entertainment Zone in the Primorye Region near Vladivostok, since the beginning of the year.

The casino’s owners Summit Ascent Holdings, fronted by Lawrence Ho, reported that its average daily visitation had doubled in the past quarter with the average number of daily visits increasing from 500 to 1,000 between July and September of this year.

Konstantin Shestakov, Head of the tourism department for the region, said: “The total number of visitors for this period amounted to more than 95,000 people, which is nearly the same as that for the first half of 2016.”

He explained that around 30 per cent of the casino’s visitors were foreign tourists from Asia, in particular from Mainland China and South Korea, adding that the venue has so far brought in aroundUS$31.3m in tax revenues to the Russian Government.

Rolling chip turnover since the casino’s official opening in November 2015 totalled HK$8.3bn at the end of August with July and August being the best months.
For the first six months of the year, the project generated a net profit of US$219,100, compared to a loss this time last year of $5.6m. The casino has been operating an average of 23 mass gaming tables, up to 14 VIP tables and 319 slots. Rolling chip turnover increased from $33.2m in Tigre’s first month of operation in November to $257.8m in July increasing to $283.6m for August.
