Spain – Casino Mediterráneo opens in Benidorm

By - 19 August 2014

The Casino Mediterráneo Benidorm has opened on the holiday resorts’ Marina Baixa, marking the third casino in the group’s portfolio.

The first phase has included the ground floor and the first floor, which will house the casino and a multipurpose room geared towards events and exhibitions. The second phase, which will be completed in October, will include a restaurant and a large terrace area. The casino hosts American roulette, Black Jack, Punto Banco, as well as a sports betting area with betting terminals, TV screens and an area to watch sports events. In total, 3,600 sq. ft. has been dedicated to gaming.

The first floor includes a dedicated poker area and the ‘Art Casino ‘, which will regularly host exhibitions of local and national artists, as well as all kinds of cultural activities such as poetry readings, book presentations and conferences.

President of Casino Mediterráneo, Jesus Alamo, said: “Bendidorm was missing a casino. It has brought 70 jobs with another 80 to follow.”

Benidorm’s Mayor, Agustín Navarro, added: “We believe the casino can be a big boost to revitalise the Rincon de Loix. We needed a casino in Benidorm.”

The Mediterranean Casino group already operates two similar facilities in Orihuela and Alicante.
