Spain – NMi appoints Filippo Ferri for Spain and Latin America

By - 24 October 2016

Testing company NMi has appointed Filippo Ferri to be its Regional Manager for Spain and Latin America.

NMi Gaming’s Managing Director, Andrew Rosewarne, said: “I am delighted to welcome Filippo to NMi and into this strategic role, which will provide leadership in our initiatives in Spain and Latin America. Filippo brings with him many years of experience in the industry, unparalleled knowledge of gaming regulations and markets, and a proven track record in management and business development. I am certain our customers, both existing and future, will benefit greatly from Filippo joining our team.”

Mr Ferri has an extensive knowledge of i-gaming and the gambling industry. During the past 12 years, he has worked in both the terrestrial and online sectors of the industry, and at the convergence of the two. He has held senior roles in market-leading organisations that have pioneered the development and deployment of server-based gaming systems, and online products including mobile gaming platforms, virtual sports betting, and live dealer games.

During this tenure he developed an unsurpassed network of relationships, with regulators, operators, testing facilities, and gaming associations throughout the world. He has helped shape technical regulations in advanced gaming jurisdictions and has been a frequent speaker at high profile industry events. In this new role, Mr Ferri will further NMi’s operations in a number of key strategic markets such as Spain, where the company has had a long standing presence, looking after a growing portfolio of successful local and international players. A growing number of operators and B2B suppliers are looking at Latin America as markets for future expansion, in addition to well-established local companies looking to further their reach into online, leading to fertile market opportunities. Mr Ferri has been advising local gaming regulators on the need for comprehensive, coherent technical frameworks, and has been a pioneering supporter of Cumbre Iberoamericana del Juego as a forum for discussion, in addition to participating in technical panels such as the Brazilian Gaming Congress.

Mr Ferri said: “I am tremendously excited to be part of NMi’s international expansion in markets that the industry has clearly identified as being of strategic importance. We intend to bring to the region the kind of certification and compliance excellence that will facilitate local and global players to successfully operate in an increasingly complex regulated industry. I am very impressed with the enthusiasm, commitment and knowledge of the NMi team and the technical solutions they employ to ensure efficient certification and auditing. I personally cannot wait to tell everyone what a fantastic experience we are embarking on.”
