US – Metric promotes new President from within

By - 23 September 2014

Las-Vegas based Metric Gaming has appointed its former Chairman of the Board, Peter Bertilsson, as the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Bertilsson has been a top-level gaming executive and consultant since the late 1990’s, during which time he has developed extensive experience and expertise in both the online and retail gaming sectors.
As a CEO, Mr. Bertilsson enjoys a stellar track record, having previously led Swedish-based Boss Media from operating at a loss in 2001 to becoming the best performing stock on the Swedish stock exchange within three years. In 2010, Mr. Bertilsson joined bwin Games AB (formerly Ongame), a subsidiary of the then-world’s largest publicly traded online gambling company, to head the company’s poker network division. Within two years, under Mr. Bertilsson’s leadership, bwin successfully sold the Ongame division in a structured auction to Amaya Gaming (now the world’s largest publicly traded online gaming company).

“Metric Gaming is one of the most innovative companies I have seen in my twenty years in this industry,” remarks Mr. Bertilsson. “It has been a pleasure serving as Metric’s Chairman, and I am thrilled with this opportunity to take over the reins as CEO and help this company reach its full and tremendous potential.”

Mr. Bertilsson will be moving to Las Vegas at the end of September to work full-time as CEO out of Metric’s headquarters in Las Vegas. He is taking over the position from Metric’s founder, Martin de Knijff, who will remain a director and assume the role of Metric’s Head of Business and Product Development.
