US- New Jersey online casinos reach new high

By - 15 April 2015

In March 2015, New Jersey’s online casinos and online poker sites brought in a record $13.16m combined revenue last month, the highest monthly total in the history of the industry.

More gaming revenue means more tax dollars for New Jersey, and online gaming in New Jersey is booming, according to statistics just released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reports online casino operators have contributed $3.25m to the state’s responsible gambling funds. To date, online gaming has generated more than $25m total in taxes for the Garden State.

“The strong performance of Atlantic City’s online casinos in March proves that the industry is just starting to tap the potential,” PlayNJ Spokesperson John Darr said. “Atlantic City casinos are realizing millions in revenue with online gaming and the state is realizing millions in taxes.”
The online gaming market, managed by Atlantic City casinos, consists of offering online versions of traditional casino games like Black Jack and Roulette, as well as online poker.

Combined, online gaming brought in $13.16m to $10.9m from casino play; $2.22m from online poker.

Offering both casino games and poker, Borgota brought in $4m in total revenue in March and it was the first time they’d hit that mark since April 2014. They remain the only operator to bring in $4m combined revenue from online gaming (casino and poker) in one month.

In March 2015, Tropicana became the first operator to earn $3m from casino play only in a single month.
Golden Nugget saw revenues of $2.96m (casino play only) in March 2015.
