US – NIGA Tradeshow and Convention projected to generate over $5m

By - 6 December 2017

The city of Las Vegas anticipates welcoming nearly 7,000 industry professionals from across the US to attend the National Indian Gaming Association’s annual Tradeshow & Convention at the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 17-20 2018.

The longest running gaming tradeshow will be held in Las Vegas for the first time, and with energy and excitement around the location, it is on track to be the largest annual gathering to date.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority anticipates the direct visitor impact of the NIGA Tradeshow & Convention, which represents monies spent directly by the visitors (casinos, hotels, restaurant, shopping) at $5.9 million.

NIGA Chairman Ernie Stevens, Jr. said: “Hosting the event in Las Vegas this year, in the heart of gaming in the U.S., cements our position as the leading resource to celebrate Tribal gaming and success. We are excited about the level of enthusiasm we have received from members, attendees, speakers and sponsors for the first-time Las Vegas location. We are always proud to support our host city through the economic impact we deliver, and this year we are excited to bring Indian gaming’s great event to the entertainment capital of the world!”

Convention and meeting visitors are a key component of the broader tourism industry in Southern Nevada, representing approximately 15 per cent of all visitors and is estimated to support 54,800 jobs. These visitors spend billions of dollars at local resorts and tourism venues, and visitor spending translates into thousands of jobs in southern Nevada, supporting billions in wages and salaries.

With the Las Vegas location, the event has never been more affordable, providing attendees with access to a variety of lower cost hotel options (as low as $89 per night), along with a plethora of dining and entertainment experiences.

Attendees are encouraged to register early to take advantage of packages and discounts which add to savings. Early rates are in effect through 16 March 2018 online.
